Tracey and Matthew New Lanark Mill Hotel

Tracey & Matthew were married on a lovely winters day at the New Lanark Mill hotel in December 2013.

I was looking forward to this winter wedding as it was right in between Christmas and New year. Right up til their big day the weather was, in true Scottish style, pretty terrible. However we got really lucky and had a lovely crisp winters day.

The New Lanark mill Hotel is in a stunning setting surrounded by trees next to the falls of the Clyde. The surrounding buildings and amazing rooftop garden let you get some great wedding pictures.

I got there early to find Tracey and the girls getting ready in a bustling room before we headed to the wedding service. The kids tried to steal the show but Tracey looked amazing as she came down the aisle to meet her very proud looking husband to be, Matthew.

We were treated to a fabulous humanist service and there were quite a few laughs and tears to be had. After we went outside for some nice pictures around the building and next to the river before getting onto the roof with the family for some stunning photographs. It was absolutely freezing up there, Tracey and Matthew were absolute stars for putting up with the cold but they got some lovely pictures for their trouble! Davy the piper was also in great form keeping everyone in high spirits. (hes a popular man and i see him at a lot of weddings!)

After a lovely meal and some memorable speeches we managed to get some lovely shots outside in the rain and the dark before heading upstairs to the big party. I do love getting these kind of shots using my lights, it really pays off getting some low-key romantic pictures.

Unfortunately I couldn’t stay all night but I left the new Mr & Mrs dancing the night away in what was a very brilliant day.
