I was back in South Queensferry for Gillian and Rob’s big day on April 1st. This wee town is brilliant for photographs. Having a wedding there really lets you get creative. The venue is called the Orocco Pier and is a seafood restaurant and boutique hotel.
The Orocco Pier is a really lovely venue, it has a wee modern function hall downstairs from its lovely restaurant. The only thing better than the food here is the breathtaking views of the river forth and its two monumental bridges. The venue can accommodate up to 220 guests as it has a marquee feature (unfortunately i havent seen this yet) and has 17 bedrooms. You can see the venues website here.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t to be so kind as there was one hell of a gale blowing (a few wedding hats almost ended up in Glasgow!) and it was bitterly cold on the waterside so we couldn’t get down onto the beach. But all credit to Rob and Gillian as they were tremendously accommodating and braved a walk right out onto the jetty for some stunning pictures (thank you!). The day went flawlessly and the reception had loads of nice wee touches such as dishes of cola bottles and sherbet saucer sweets. The buffet even had mini fish and chips that came in specially printed newspaper wrappings showing pictures of the new Mr and Mrs, amazing!
